Adèle Dejak is a luxury Kenyan jewellery and accessories label that is synonymous with modern African elegance. Named after its founder the label was started in 2005 by Nigerian-born Adèle Dejak shortly after she relocated to Kenya. The Adèle Dejak signature aesthetic is characterized by striking statement designs handcrafted from natural and reclaimed materials that are sourced locally and from across the African continent. Ancient African art -in the form of West African masks, pottery, traditional African textiles and other traditional artefacts- is a major source of inspiration for Dejak; the influences of which can be seen throughout her designs.

Turning to nature Dejak draws inspiration from the natural beauty and colors of ebony, horn and bone. She works in partnership with local artisans to experiment with different techniques of carving the materials into the bold organic shapes that become earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings that accentuate the body. The natural materials are often combined with metals, beads and locally sourced leather. And with sustainability in design a part of the label’s ethos Dejak at times uses found materials such as cement bags, sugar and rice sacks, which have been turned into stylish bags forming part of the Adele Dejak accessories collection that also includes belts and footwear.

In 2014 Dejak launched Adèle Dejak Lifestyle a collection of interior products and accessories inspired by the ethos of her jewellery collections. The Adèle Dejak Lifestyle collection includes candleholders, spoons and bowls handcrafted from Ankole cow horn, with the addition of gold leaf and brass studs adding a luxurious touch.

With a number of retail outlets across Kenya and an ever increasing regional and international following the Adèle Dejak label is part of a growing number of influential brands who are championing the African luxury movement and celebrating Africa’s rich diverse heritage.
